As you may or may not know/may or may not have noticed, exam season is well and truly upon us (feel like I say this every year, unoriginal to my core, I know I know). This is my (feeble) excuse for being pretty silent for a while. I say feeble as I've not really been focusing on revision either, but let's just go with it.
I feel like I'm probably not the best person to give this advice, stress does bad things to me. But throughout the many many exam seasons I've slogged through, I've found a few things that seem to work. This is slightly tailored to those stressing about exams, but could easily
1. ORGANISE YOUR TIME
Make a revision timetable and stick to it. Make sure you give yourself a reasonable time off, if you overwork yourself I garnet you'll be at least 34927 times less productive the next day.
Before you go to bed every night write a to do list, so you don't have hundreds of things knocking around in your head while you try to sleep. Get everything down on paper so you don't stress about forgetting something you're already stressing about.
2. PAMPER YOURSELF
2. PAMPER YOURSELF
Or if you're like me, get your housemate to give you a facial. In your free time that you gave yourself in your revision timetable go into town and get a haircut or buy some new body lotion, take a bath, put a face mask on. Make sure you look after yourself, otherwise your brain won't stand a chance.
3. EAT CAKE
Or whatever else takes your fancy. Don't try out that hardcore intensive new diet during exams/deadlines. You don't need to add extra stress that's already been handed to you on a plate by your school/college/uni/job. Stressed is desserts spelt backwards, if that's not a sign, I don't know what is.
4. MAKE A PLAYLIST
I love music, it can be a very therapeutic thing for most people (sorry to those who it's not, maybe skip this one). Make several, one for motivation, one for more chilled times, or just one of your favourites to work to. Make yourself a soundtrack.
If you haven't seen my previous playlists check them out here
5. GET OUTSIDE
Doesn't necessarily have to be actual exercise, but that is probably slightly more beneficial. But being holed up in your room/the library/an office isn't likely to be helpful for the most sane of people. Get some fresh air, go for a walk. Even if it is to the shop to buy some more cake.
What are your tips for de-stressing?
